The majority of customers ship their wine box gift to themselves, add the wine and then hand deliver to the recipient. There are situations however, where you may not have the option to hand deliver and need to ship directly to the recipient. Here are a few suggestions.
1) Find a local wine shop or winery that has the licenses and ability to ship the wine box with wine to the couple. Order a wine box from us and ship it to yourself. Once it arrives take it, along with the packaging it came in, to the establishment. They can then pack it together and reship it in the cardboard box to the recipient(s). Request that they insure the package against damage.
2) Contact a winery / wine store with delivery service in the area where the couple lives. Purchase a wine box from us and ship it directly to the recipient(s) including a handwritten note card (available during the wine box ordering process) stating wine will be arriving separately. The recipient(s) will then be able to fill the box with wine once both packages arrive.
3) Purchase a gift card from a winery / wine store in the area where the couple lives. Have the gift card mailed or emailed to the recipient. Purchase a wine box and ship it directly to the recipient including a handwritten note card (available during the wine box ordering process) stating a gift card for the wine will be arriving separately. The recipient(s) will then be able to fill the box with wine of their choice once both packages arrive.
4) Purchase wine from an online retailer who will ship wine directly to the recipient. Purchase a wine box and ship it directly to the recipient(s) including a handwritten note card (available during the wine box ordering process) stating wine will be arriving separately. The recipient(s) will then be able to fill the box with wine once both packages arrive.
Without the proper alcohol licenses, individuals and businesses are not allowed to ship wine across state lines. Laws regarding the shipment of wine and liquor vary by state and even county, making it very complex. Trust us, we have looked into it :). Please contact us with any questions!
